Inhale/Exhale

Breathing mechanical life into paper geometry.

Inhale/Exhale showcased several expanding contraptions that "inhale" and "exhale" through the use of motors and Arduino. The expanding origami ball was constructed from a single 5 x 10 foot sheet of paper and is connected to strings and motors controlled by an Arduino to move inwards and outwards. By powering the movement of expanding and contracting of the objects, we bring mechanical life to the objects, giving them the ability to move autonomously.
